Auburn-Opelika Staycation

2020 will forever be known as the year of the “unwanted staycation”, sure the first few weeks were fun, relaxing, and full of DIY projects you’ve been meaning to do, but by week three all the fun to have was gone, relaxation quickly turned into frustration, and the “accent wall” you painted three weeks ago has been painted 3 different colors and still isn’t what you wanted.

But 2021 is different. We are taking back face-to-face interactions, and trying to remember how to use facial expressions now that the mask mandate has been lifted. Restaurants and bars are opening up their doors and nightlife on the plains is back. Auburn-Opelika is open and ready to welcome the community.

Many of us are still able to work from home, and enjoying life in Auburn has never been easier. Looking for a brunch spot to start your day? Lucy’s will thrill you with its refreshing atmosphere and impeccable staff.

If you are looking for a great lunch spot between zoom calls, try The Irritable Bao, with weekly specials and features, it’s a lunch spot guaranteed to never disappoint.

That home office chair isn’t the most comfortable thing to sit in and stretching for 15-minutes every two hours isn’t cutting it anymore. Stop by éLevé Spa for a relaxing facial or full body massage, enjoy some champagne while you’re there, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere, right?

The day is coming to an end and you are looking for the perfect dinner date spot, look no further. Ariccia Cucina Italiana is located inside the The Hotel at Auburn University and is the perfect spot for unwinding with a huge plate of handmade pasta and a glass of wine after a long work week.

Whether you are a party of one or a family of six, Auburn has something for everyone. Looking for something to do? Check out the Auburn-Opelika Tourism calendar for everything that is happening in Lee County. Let’s get out there and take back 2021!
