Football Season is Back

That time of year is upon us Auburn fans. Tailgating season is here, it’s time to fill the ice chest and fire up the grills, it’s game time! Now that restrictions have been lifted and we can gather in large crowds, tailgating is back and better than ever.

Tailgating has been a crowd gathering fan favorite for over 100 years, and boy has it evolved. What used to be a before-game party has now become a weekend full of events. Need a little more info? Parking, hotel, game and event information can be found on the Auburn-Opelika Tourism website.

Enjoy the football weather, but not the large crowds? No worries, the entire city comes to life during tailgating season so there’s plenty to do all weekend long. One of the most attractive things about downtown Auburn is that everything is within walking distance!

Need a little retail therapy stop into any of downtown Auburn’s boutiques for some AU swag

One of our favorite home game traditions is the Southeastern Raptor Center’s Football, Fans and Feathers. This “AU-some” show offers fans the opportunity to see the birds of prey eye-to-eye and watch as they swoop overhead.

Shows for 2021 will be held at 4 p.m. the Friday before Auburn home games on Sept. 3, 10, 24; Oct. 8, 29; Nov. 12, 26.

Tickets are $8 per person and can be purchased in advance; there is no charge for children age three and under. The hour-long program is presented at the center’s the 350-seat Edgar B. Carter Educational Amphitheater, located at 1350 Pratt-Carden Drive off Shug Jordan Parkway.

However you decide to celebrate, we know you’ll have a blast in Auburn-Opelika! War Eagle!
