KMG takes on NYC

What’s better than taking on the big apple? Taking on the big apple with Kent McCown Group of course! Covid may have canceled plans in 2020, but in 2021 we are reclaiming our calendars. This year we had the opportunity to attend GenBlue 2021 in New York City, and when opportunity calls, KMG answers. GenBlue is the annual Coldwell Banker conference for CB agents all over the word.

We packed our bags and headed to NYC!

We could spend all day long telling you about the wealth of knowledge we obtained at GenBlue and the amazing speakers we heard from, or we could talk about what you really came here for, and that is KMG’s true NYC experience.

Day 1:

We were reminded how fortunate we are to live in an area so close to an international airport. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is about an hour and a half drive from Auburn-Opelika. After an uneventful two-hour flight, we were wheels-down in NYC.

Day 2:

On this day we attended inspiring seminars and the opening ceremony for GenBlue 2021 – this included a show-stopping performance by the Harlem Gospel Choir. Between the seminars and opening ceremony, we swung by Lodi, a bakery nestled right in front of Rockefeller Center. Delicious!

And we cannot forget to mention the tacos at Los Tacos No. 1. We’re still dreaming of these tacos.

After the opening ceremony, we all went back to the hotel to rest. After a quick power nap, we reconvened for dinner at Harry’s – A Mad Men-style restaurant in the heart of the financial district – where we indulged in good food, good times, and good company. We highly recommend the martinis.

Day 3:

On this day we attended several more seminars and a CB inspires session where we had the opportunity to hear from some of the most inspirational agents in our industry. Robin Roberts and Angela Duckworth shared a little bit of their wisdom and experience with us.

After the conference wrapped up, we set off to explore the city.

We visited the 911 Memorial & Museum, saw the infamous naked cowboy (he’s not actually naked), did some shopping in the upper east side, visited the Museum of Modern Art, and of course went to see the broadway show Hadestown. Run, don’t walk to this MUST WATCH SHOW!

Day 4:

We flew home listening to the soundtrack from Hadestown the whole way. We’ll miss you NYC. Thank you for the fabulous times, but we’re always happy to be home in Auburn-Opelika.
